Term 1 runs July 9-August 27
Your 1 st Term class is full of exciting and fun stage exercises and games which for over 40 years have taught people just like you the basics of improvisation while building an ensemble. This art form is more than just a game or a punch line on a TV show. A solid foundation in this art form can help you emerge into something you always wanted to be or never knew you could be; and it's all done while laughing!
Term 2 runs September 10-October 22
Through a variety of exciting and challenging improv games and exercises you’ll learn how to expand your scenes beyond the traditional notions of ‘here and now’ while diving deeper into playing 3 dimensional characters. Split scenes, internal character thoughts, character histories and the reasons why we go to the theatre are covered in this pivotal term. As with each ImprovChicago Term, each class is built upon the foundations taught in previous term, thus preparing you for the next term. And it’s all done through playing!
